Evalutation of Victor Frankenstein

At the end of chapter 10, we get some insight into the real person, or character, of Victor Frankenstein. What can you infer about Frankenstein's character from his close personal relationships? his scientific project? and in your opinion, is he an appealing person?

I don't think Victor Frankenstein is an appealing person because he isn't taking the responsibility his creation and he has to take the responsibility for the monster since he was the one who brought him to life. When you create something it's your responsibility to take care of it. Victor Frankenstein is an obsessed freaky man.

  2. Victor Frankeinstein should of faced his problems instead of letting them get out of his hands. If he created a "monster" there had to be a great reason behind all of these ideas and feelings he had. His personal realtionships were not that socilizing, he had friends but when he started to create this monster it became his priority. They do say that the things belong to their owners..........

  3. Victor really should take responsibility for his actions and stop running away from his problems. He thought he would be able to create life and be praised but it didn't turn out like that. He didn't realize that when he makes a mistake, he has to fix it. He doesn't know what it takes to do something and take responsibility.

  4. I think he was a lonely guy and just wanted to creat something great, that's why he created the monster. And he didn't expect it to look or act the way it did. I believe he is a very appealing person wanting to learn more, and experimenting. Like seriously who would try to creat their very own person?

  5. I agree with Lluvia when she said "They do say that the things belong to their owners" because we are all responsible for the things we do (create) and the consequences that follow them, whether good or bad.

  6. to me i think victor frankenstein is somewhat of a curious man that wants to understand the meaning of life, he kinda shows that in his personal relationships. His idea of creating the creature was what i think came from the scientific studies he did and curiousity to see if it would be possible to make a live human being out of dead parts. victor i think just isnt a social person.

  7. Victor is an appealing person in the sense that his curiosity did lead him to an amazing creature... For that creature is getting a sense of how people are towards him and others. However he treats that creature in no compassion what so ever! Therefore <on the other hand, he is not appealing.

  9. Victor is a really bad creator not taking care and responsibility for his creture. He just lets his problems slip and let them pass. This is the real victor.

  10. Victor created Frankenstein hoping to create a human life.. Which he succedded, but after it was all done, he stopped caring and had no responsibility towards his own creation.. He needs to take responsibillity for him beacse its affecting him too.

  11. I think Victor had way to much time on his hands. I think he really didn't fit in with his own family. That's why he has excluded himself from mostly everybody. He probably wanted to create life so that he was noticed. He didn't want to be known as the creep that knows way to much and has no friends but as Victor the man that gave life!

  12. When we read this chapter you can really notice that Victor is really just a coward. At the beginning he wanted to be great for making a new creation and now that it did not work that way he is runnin away and denying the creature he made. He needs to man up amd face the consequences of his actions.
